Ingredients:
1 3/4 cup - flour
1/4 tsp - cloves
1 cup - English walnuts
1/4 tsp. - salt
3/4 tsp. - cinnamon
1 cup - chopped dates
1 cup - sugar
2 - eggs
1/2 cup - crisco
3/4 tsp. - baking soda
3 Tbsp. - hot water
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
2. In a mixing bowl, mix the flour, cloves, walnuts, salt, cinnamon and dates well.
3. Next add eggs, sugar, crisco, baking soda and hot water- one at a time, beating after each one.
4. Knead into a dough.
5. Drop in little balls on greased cookie sheet.
6. Bake 15 minutes at 375 degrees F.
7. Remove from pan while warm.
