Frikadeller (Danish Meatballs)
Ingredients
Casserole, Main dish
1 Large onion- chopped
1 Tablespoon butter
3/4 cup bread crumbs
3/4 cup milk
1 1/2 pound chopped chuck
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon allspice
pepper
1 cup milk-warmed
Cook onion in the butter until soft .
Soak the bread crumbs in the milk and combine with onions, meat, eggs and the seasonings.
Mix well. Gradually beat in the warm milk.
Add as much of the milk as the mixture will take. It should be a very soft mixture.
Form into small meatballs for cocktails or large ones for dinner.
Brown meat and put into a casserole dish.
After browning take drippings and add flour and water cook up use for gravy.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
Serve over noodles as a main course.
